Monthly Favourites | October

Hello my beautiful friends,

Fall must have arrived for some of you guys in the other part of the world. In Singapore the haze has finally cleared up after couple of months of torture ! I’ve decided to incorporate monthly favorites into my blogging sphere. Hope you guys like it 🙂

Food

Fresh pomegranate juice. I can’t emphasis how fantastic this is !! I am going through the craze of pomegranate at the moment 😛 (Maybe the haze  clouded my brain) .Though you have to painstakingly take the seeds out and blend it to get the juice. (Just a little pain for so much of pain)

The dazzling red hue is backed with so much scientific research that you guys might want to give this a shot. One glass of this lovely juice is jam-packed with 40% of folic acid that is needed daily and Vitamins A, C and E. Not to forget it has the maximum amount of anti-oxidants ( 3 times of green tea!).  You might want to consider making your own healthy glass than a packed juice carton after reading the pointers below.

  • maintains a healthy heart
  • healthy glowing skin
  • regulates blood sugar levels
  • reduces hair fall
  • boosts immunity,
  • prevents anemia
  • reduces risk of cancer
  • splendid anti-aging agent

Products

This is one of the products I accidentally stumbled upon in Mustafa. It is the best $12 invested ! Wow I didn’t think this beauty will be this useful to me. I have been having bad hair fall lately and have been blaming it on the stress. But I had to take some action but no pills for me, thank you. This pure coconut hair repair treatment and a leave-in conditioner has been doing magic to my hair. I use the hair repair treatment once a week and the leave in conditioner every time I wash my hair.  People have complemented that my hair has grown ! I do feel that my hair feels much healthier and the hair fall has reduced.  Oh not to forget, it smells amazing!

Leave-in Conditioner : $ 5.50

Hair Repair Treatment: $ 5.90

The next product that was worthy enough to come to this list is an ayurvedic product. It costed a very small price for its richness that’s pumped into this bottle. This cleansing milk comprises of sandalwood, almond and Indian berberry extracts. It has been my go-to for make-up removal in the evenings and my skin feels so smooth after which. 🙂

Paulo Coelho – The Alchemist

I know many might have already read this book before, but I only read this in recent times and it’s nothing like I ever read before. This phrase..

“When you want something, all the universe conspires to help you achieve it,” the old king had said.
Now this is something I strongly believe in. When you work hard to achieve what you desire, you will see the fruits of your labor. This book was an excellent read. And trust me, I have told so many people to give this a read. I am going to re read it slowly again. I would classify this as a fictional/fantasy but it helps you to discover your inner potential and dreams. You have to face all odds to get what you want. The test and trials you face is only going to make you stronger not weaker. Since I was able to relate a lot of things to my own life , I started seeing things now in whole new different perspective. Thanks to Mimi Ikonn for recommending this lovely book!

Music
I love listening to music when I do my chores. It keeps me going and I hustle with more enthusiasm. I came to know this song Ghost by Halsey through a recommendation from youtuber Gabriella Lindley. So i thought I would share the two songs that I have been constantly humming through october and not to forget Adele Hello. She has been flooding my news feed from day 1 and this songs’ lyrics feel so close to my heart.
Ghost – Halsey

Hello – Adele

It has been a good and happy October lets say Hello November 😀

Sat and slowly enjoyed a pomegranate just last night while contemplating ghosts and spirits and the candy I wasn’t consuming!

Such a cool group of favourites, little of this and a little of that…something for everyone.
I have just recently gotten into pomegranates. They are so good for you, I usually buy the juice in health food stores. I live in Canada, the availability of fresh pomegranates are hit and miss. I have not tried to juice them fresh, but just might sometime! 🙂
    Thank you for sharing!

Thank you! Yes getting fresh ones are difficult. In Asia , you can still get it all year round, hence making the juice fresh is easier. It’s my pleasure ! 😀

Glad to hear the Singapore haze is clearing. I don’t live there anymore but did work at the National University years ago, and got used to the rhythms of the year and the times you really shouldn’t be breathing if you can help it.
